Bio for Memoir Church
Jeanne Drevas, having had to call it quits as a sculptor using strange materials like bark and skate boards (www.jeannedrevas.com), now finds herself as a writer and watercolorist (only in her journals).
Fascinated as a child watching the family’s new home being built, she went on to build her own handmade hippie house in Rappahannock County, Virginia, a county of only 7000 souls. Rural indeed. With little money and a huge old 1930’s garage bought for one dollar, she spent forty years building as if her home was sculpture.
This odyssey is the setting for her first book (with another one called Jeanne’s History of Dance and other Physical Endeavors in the works). She will be reading from from Handmade House.
